Position Summary:

The Integration Officer will serve as a critical member of UJA’s senior management group, responsible for helping to design and execute initiatives that align UJA’s various departments with the organization’s overall strategic plan, thereby optimizing UJA’s efficiency and impact.

Reporting to the CEO (and COO, once hired), the Integration Officer will focus on the following current initiatives aimed at strengthening UJA’s processes and operations:

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Support Organizational-Wide Strategic Planning
  2. Oversee a 3 year strategic plan in collaboration with the CEO and COO
  3. Support the development and dissemination of annual organizational priorities – working with UJA’s Senior Executive Team (SET) and Allocations Steering Committee (ASC) to manage this process
  4. Help facilitate clarity and coordination around organizational priorities so as to align organizational resources and enforce accountability
  5. Technology Assessment
  6. Lead assessment of how UJA can better harness technology to improve internal processes and UJA’s positioning as a leading, impact-driven non-profit
  7. Internal Communication and Information Sharing
  8. Pilot nimble mechanisms for sharing relevant and helpful information across the organization in order to align the organization around learning, key moments of activation, etc.
  9. Facilitate shared learning and expertise among UJA departments
  10. Create and oversee a work group of departmental coordinators to share best practices and challenges, and identify workflow enhancing opportunities
  11. Align and link systems and people so UJA can better harness data to inform impact reporting and storytelling
  12. Special Project Planning and Management        
  13. Help to develop and manage special projects at the request of the CEO or COO
  14. Engagement of the Senior Management Group (SMG)
  15. Work with SET to create an annual curriculum for SMG that aligns with organizational objectives
  16. Work with SMG to pilot models addressing information sharing and organizational alignment
  17. Facilitation of SET meetings and retreat
  18. Handle the agenda setting for both SET meetings and annual retreat and track follow up from these meetings
  19. Oversee UJA archives
  20. Refine protocols and oversee archiving and oral history of UJA’s historically relevant material

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • 8 plus years of professional experience in progressively responsible leadership roles
  • Understanding of finance, information systems, organizational metrics, and human resources
  • Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people with the ability to motivate, provide feedback, and inspire
  • Ability to think strategically, assess, strategize and execute a plan, while anticipating future consequences and trends
  • Exceptional project management experience demonstrating ability to meet multiple deadlines, move quickly from one project to another, marshal necessary resources, and manage expectations/timelines to achieve results
  • Superior written, interpersonal and relationship building skills, and an ability to communicate effectively to an array of organizational stakeholders
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills with knowledge of performance/ operation metrics and a high level of computer proficiency and ability to learn new technologies and databases
  • Possess incredible initiative, an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A team builder who has experience in managing organizational change
  • A personal commitment to UJA-Federation’s mission
  • Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred.
