JOB SUMMARY & KEY PRIORITIES:

The Development Manager, Mid-Level Giving is a critical member of the Development team, owning all aspects of the mid-range ($1,000 - $9,999) donor portfolio including implementation of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. Based in Washington, DC and reporting to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, the Development Manager will be a vital contributor to reaching and growing the Development team’s annual revenue goals.

KEY RESULTS

This role will:

·      Cultivate, renew, upgrade, and steward a portfolio of mid-range donors and prospects (individuals, foundations, small companies), exceeding $500,000 in annual revenue;

·      In collaboration with the Development team, plan and execute annual mid-level multi-channel fundraising strategies as part of the Development team’s fundraising plan.

·      Lead in writing and preparing all mid-level mailings, including renewal packages, cultivation mailings, and personalized acknowledgements and postcards.

·      Take a leading role in organizing and managing logistics for events, including our annual New York and DC Casino Nights.

·      Assist with stewardship of high-level peer-to-peer fundraisers, including Board members and major donors.

·      Assist with drafting and coordinating content for a planned giving program, including content on giving options for website, newsletters, and direct-mail inserts; assist in securing distributed funds from legacy donors’ estates.

·      Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

●     Passion for robust donor stewardship of those committing to changing the culture around mental health for young adults nationwide.

●     Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information and provide well-constructed written correspondence, reports and documentation.

●     Exemplary relationship building and customer service skills.

●     Able to prioritize tasks, organize time effectively, and respond to changing deadlines; must have ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time.


You need to have:

●     4-6 years related experience in a nonprofit development environment, or a high level of transferrable experience.

●     Fully digital literate, including Microsoft & Google products, and online meeting tools.

●     Experience with Salesforce and other databases a plus.
