Overview

CFR.org is CFR’s award-winning website and a leading source of foreign policy analysis. It publishes a mix of resources, including interactives, videos, podcasts, the Daily News Brief newsletter, Backgrounders, and interviews with foreign policy experts. CFR Digital collaborates closely with CFR’s think tank on its content and features insights from CFR fellows in a number of ways, including Expert Briefs and video interviews.

 

The Associate Multimedia Producer will provide production, editorial, and administrative support under the direction of CFR Digital’s Managing Editor and Deputy Director for Multimedia.

 

This is an interim, three month assignment with the possibility of extension. 


The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the multimedia team in producing and managing CFR Digital’s growing volume of multimedia products, including podcasts, videos, and interactives
  • Provide production support for CFR podcasts, including image and footage research, booking guests, and managing production schedules
  • Draft portions of the podcast upon request, such as opening and closing segments
  • Edit podcast productions, and create cut downs and clips for video
  • Assist with budget maintenance and grant reporting
  • Train interns and new staff on multimedia techniques


Qualifications

  • BA degree in Media Production, Journalism, Communications or a related field
  • 2+ years experience in multimedia journalism or communications
  • Experience in editing audio and/or podcasts, video and photos with digital editing tools such as Adobe Audition, Premiere, Photoshop and the Creative Cloud suite of software
  • Experience working with budgets, accounts payable, receivable, and grant reporting
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, deadline driven environment; ability to work periodic flexible hours
  • Proven interest in and knowledge of current foreign policy issues
