Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships
Global Citizens Initiative, Inc. (GCI)

Global Citizens Initiative, Inc., or “GCI” (www.globalci.org), is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Greenwich, Connecticut that engages, educates and empowers the next generation of global citizens. The cornerstone of GCI is its annual 9-day educational Summit that aims to globalize the perspectives of 28 secondary school students from different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds from around the world to transform them into lifelong ethical leaders of positive change. The Summit launches a 9-month Fellowship during which students plan and implement service projects in their home communities, based on one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals. Each student is assigned an experienced mentor by GCI who provides guidance and advice on their projects for the duration of the Fellowship. From 2014 - 2018, GCI held the Summit in Cambridge, MA, and in 2019 the Summit was held in Tokyo Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GCI cancelled the 2020 and 2021 Summit/Fellowship, which it expects to resume during the summer of 2022 on the campus of the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

GCI developed an annual Seminar for 12 secondary school educators from around the world to help them prepare their students for leadership roles and for initiating real change in their communities. Inaugurated in 2018, the Seminar is held concurrently with the Summit and is also expected to resume during the summer of 2022 at St Andrews.

Those who have an interest in education, international cultures and social enterprise will enjoy working at this mission-driven organization. The role of Senior Manager, Programs and Partnerships is key to the planning and delivery of the GCI Summit/Fellowship and the GCI Seminar, as well as to the alumni programs that GCI currently holds and is continuing to develop. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a small and dynamic organization as it expands its reach through new and innovative programming.

GCI is looking for someone who can keep our most important programs running efficiently and has the strategic mindset and creativity required to ensure their ongoing effectiveness and impact.

Located in Greenwich, Connecticut, GCI’s office is less than a 5-minute walk from the Greenwich Metro-North train station, which is an express stop on the commuter line from New York City.
