POSITION SUMMARY:

The Education Coordinator will help design out-of-school/after school academic tutorial programs and activities to help students achieve and maintain grade level competency. The Coordinator will work with partnering schools to identify and address student’s learning needs. 

The Coordinator will also assist the Program Manager on program evaluation and daily operation. This full-time coordinator also will help supervise summer camp counselors and volunteers.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field

·        2 years’ experience in after school or educational programs

·        CPR/First Aid certified

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·        Proficient in an Asian language is a plus

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Programming

o  Design academic tutorial programs for grade level competency

o  Monitor and Evaluate student learning outcomes

o  Create learning activites that are age-appropriate and relate to a specified subject. Use developmentally appropriate practices to guide and teach children.

o  Assist in the development and expansion of youth-related programs.

o  Help plan fieldtrips and activities for full-day programs including logistics for each.

o  Help refer Youth Program families to interdepartmental resources if there is a need.

o  Assist Program Manager in preparing annual Business Plan and completing various funding reports, both monthly and annually.

o  Maintain classrooms records such as attendance and incident reports.

 

·        Development of Staff

 

o  Arrange for CPR, First Aid, and other required trainings for staff annually.

o  Assists in maintaining all staff training records and employee files.

o  Assists staff in development of curriculums and activities.

·        Collaborations and Marketing

o  Assist in creating and maintaining program brochures and information on website on a regular basis.

o  Speak to parent groups at schools about CCC’s programs and the Youth Program in particular.

o  Be active in the community to gain exposure for CCC and its programs. Attend meetings related to the out-of-school time field.

o  Maintain successful collaborations with other organizations that are a good fit for CCC and the Youth Program.

o  Collaborate with other programs within CCC to offer comprehensive services to students and their families.

·        Professional Development

o  Attend professional development trainings when offered.

o  Attend quarterly CQI meetings and assist in program quality improvement.
