The Philadelphia Center, an urban experiential learning program in the heart of Philadelphia, seeks an Operations Manager to coordinate all front desk and business operation functions on behalf of the Center. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a climate that supports equity and diversity. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the front office, assisting faculty and staff in daily operations and interacting with current and prospective students, site supervisors, placement partners, and the general public. Duties include management of basic operations, including billing, ordering, scheduling, and corresponding with external vendors. The Operations Manager assists in the maintenance of the Center’s computer lab and other information technology, and supports web implementation, content management and maintenance and assists faculty and staff in maintaining The Philadelphia Center’s student, internship, and property files and database. Albion College in Albion, Michigan, serves as the managing partner for The Philadelphia Center, and the position reports to the Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Academic Affairs at Albion College.


The Philadelphia Center experiential learning program offers students the opportunity to gain college credit while living and learning independently. Through TPC, students secure a professional, accredited internship and housing in Philadelphia and explore career paths through work experience and rigorous, seminar-style courses. Since 1967, The Philadelphia Center has forged an experiential education program that complements an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences education. Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience, 3+ years preferred
  • Professional work experience in related fields, such as higher education, career services, or customer relations
  • Experience and a willingness to work with a diverse population and foster an ongoing atmosphere of inclusivity and collaboration
  • Evidence of success in project management and customer service
