Job Summary

 

The Software Engineer is responsible for the organizations Intranet and Extranet applications, which contain custom funding, contract, reporting, and data collection applications as well as a data dashboard. The ideal candidate will thrive working in a fast paced team environment.

 

Specific Duties

Specific duties include:

·         Supports the organization’s Extranet and various custom applications. Develops and maintains new Windows and web-based applications

·         Analyzes new requirements and develops complete project plans with technical specifications and sample layouts

·         Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, end users, and other programmers as needed to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems

·         Designs or writes program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, end users, and other programmers

·         Converts designs and specifications into computer code, compiles code into programs, tests programs to ensure they meet specifications and analyzes code to find and correct errors

·         Writes and maintains documentation of changes to computer code, programs, and specifications using Azure DevOps

·         Designs and codes layouts for onscreen user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems

·         Modifies and maintains custom software programs and reports written by others

·         Reviews user and technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations

·         Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs

·         Revises programs for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes

·         Trains end users or technical support staff to use and support custom programs

·         Coordinates with supervisor and vested customers about program revisions

 

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

·           Four plus years of development/programming experience with Microsoft development tools and platforms

·           At least 5 years of working experience developing Webforms application using .Net framework 4.5 or higher

·           Experience in designing secure web-based applications using SSL or other encryption and authentication technologies

·           Strong working knowledge of Languages including; C#, VB.NET, LINQ, Entity Framework, Java Script,  HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX, Dojo toolkit

·           Strong working knowledge of RDBMS/Data Access; SQL Server 2008/2012, SQL Server 2012 Reporting Service, MS Access

·           Working knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)

·           Ability to maintain existing stored procedures including fine-tuning and optimizing SQL database servers

·           Operating Systems including; Windows 7.0, Windows 10

·           Strong experience with Software Development Lifecycle

·           Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects

·           The ideal candidate will have bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a degree in a related area

·           Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate clearly with users at all levels

·           Must have the ability to work within tight deadlines without jeopardizing work quality

·         Ability to work independently with minimal direction and/or in a team setting

·         Must have strong critical thinking, judgment and decision making skills, including business and system analysis, problem analysis and resolution

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Compensation and benefits include:

 

·         $90k+ per year, depending on experience

 

·         Full medical and dental, 6% employer 401K contribution after 1 year employment, vacation and sick time
