Senior Specialist, Marketing Data & Reporting

Summary

The Senior Specialist Marketing Data and Reporting is responsible for the continued creation of our business intelligence platform, reporting to the Senior Director Marketing Strategy & Financial Analysis, Save the Children (SCUS). You will ensure data is well defined and consistent throughout the database and that requirements collection and entry are timely and accurate, and identifying and implementing process and operational improvements. You will work closely with the fundraisers, marketers, and our IT team, ensuring processes and planning are closely coordinated, and will analyze data to support the team in evaluating options and planning strategically.

As the team lead of Marketing, Communications and Fundraising business intelligence build, you will ensure definition consistency, internal and external standards and adhere to the agency’s values of Accountability, Ambition, Collaboration, Creativity and Integrity.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Relationship Management and Planning (40%)

  • Own the relationships with outside vendors such as Integral Services, Target Analytics, and other external service providers as necessary.
  • Bridge the gap between IT, stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Build relationships around the organization as this role will have numerous interfaces around the agency.
  • Drive the technology roadmap by requirements gathering from stakeholders and vetting against existing reporting inventory and definitional standards.
  • Organize & host training sessions and new tools for staff
  • Ensures that ongoing developments/releases are properly planned and executed (e.g. preparation, release feedback and monitoring follow-up).
  • Develop and maintain BI usage plans including training, licensing and user types.

Analytics & Management (60%)

  • Produce insights to inform forecasting, progress toward strategic goals and ad hoc analyses as appropriate.
  • Provide training and technical assistance and build capacity by working directly with staff to ensure high-quality services.
  • Analyze data to ensure high quality and prevent miscommunication and misinterpretation
  • Lead special projects and tools as required
  • Coordinate and lead analyses to maximize productivity.
  • Create MCF divisional dashboard, agency quarterly reports, global requests and other strategic performance communications.
  • Support the production of the ~$100M MCF budget, 1st and 2nd reforecasts as required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent, plus at least five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience and abilities with business analytics as well as ability to navigate forecasting processes.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels
  • Proven ability to successfully advance often ambiguous/open ended assignments
  • Demonstrated successful attention to detail, with the ability to successfully identify data trends and tendencies
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging

Preferred Qualifications

  • PowerBI skills
  • Comfortable learning new systems and querying data.
  • Experience with project management and its principles
  • Experience with APIs and high level languages (Python, R)
