YouthCare is currently seeking a Senior Accountant - Payroll in our Accounting & Finance DepartmentUnder the direction of the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the internal processing of payroll with an oversight of Accounts Payable. This individual will maintain the payroll system and process a variety of payroll entries and computations from data on employee time cards or timekeeping entries, totaling hours and distributing or allocating costs. Balances, controls and prepares summaries, debiting the appropriate accounts. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for checking computations of timekeepers and researching shortage claims. This position will also be responsible for calculation of total earnings, overtime, taxes, withholding for premiums and savings; and oversees preparation of periodic payroll reports including earnings, taxes, and deductions. Manage treasury functions and assist Accounts Payable with accruals and prepaids.

Successful candidates will have:

·        5 or more years of experience in accounting and payroll processing for an organization with over 100 employees.

  • Experience administrating a payroll software system, experience with ADP highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted principles and practices and laws related to payroll, taxes, and benefits.
  • Strong organization and detail orientation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including proficiency in Excel
  • BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business
