Founded in 1980 by LGBTQ+ youth, BAGLY is an organization led by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth to meet the core physical, social, and developmental needs of Greater Boston’s LGBTQ+ youth community. Today, BAGLY provides community-based leadership development, health promotion, and social support programs for Massachusetts LGBTQ youth communities, and is a leader in local and national LGBTQ+ youth advocacy and workforce development. Through partnerships at Boston Children’s Hospital, Point Source Youth, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, BAGLY is working to expand supports for behavioral health and for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness statewide.

As Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth (AGLY) Network Program Manager, you will serve as a thought and implementation leader for BAGLY’s statewide initiative supporting LGBTQ youth. You will be responsible for the management, implementation, and evaluation of the AGLY Network supports and services, including HIV/AIDS and STI prevention and education supports, and for ensuring contract deliverables are met, while also developing LGBTQ youth community organizing and advocacy strategies. Through your work, you will support BAGLY’s mission to build community and promote the health and wellness of LGBTQ+ youth throughout Massachusetts so they can lead happy and healthy lives.

This role reports to the Director of Programs & Services and will supervise 13 satellite AGLY sites across the state. You will conduct ongoing check-ins with AGLY site leads, complete site visits and quarterly meetings, and ensure that AGLY sites are utilizing BAGLY as a resource to deepen reach in their site.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Under the direction of the Director of Programs & Services, and working in collaboration with other BAGLY staff, the key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage the AGLY Network, including providing technical assistance, training, and capacity building
  • Coordinate and implement quarterly networking meetings and events
  • Strengthen and develop community relationships to support the development of regional resources and partnerships, including participation in funder meetings and activities
  • Represent BAGLY at community events and activities, including collaborative partner networks and coalitions
  • Collaborate with Development and Marketing staff to develop innovative print and online resource materials
  • Recruit and supervise interns and Peer Leaders
  • Support the Director of Programs & Services in grant-writing, reporting, and funding development
  • Uphold agency and program policies, procedures, and protocols, including confidentiality
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, trainings, and other internal BAGLY meetings

  • Commitment to, and deep understanding of, BAGLY’s mission
  • Understanding of youth development, social justice, models of oppression, community organizing and activism
  • Strong familiarity with issues of particular relevance to intersectional identities within the LGBTQ+ community; lived experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge and relationships with community resources related to intersections held by LGBTQ youth
  • Understanding of client-centered service delivery approaches, including Harm Reduction frameworks and Trauma-Informed service models
  • Ability to anticipate and address challenges and roll up your sleeves to tackle problems with flexibility
  • Experience in program development and the ability to take an idea from conception to launch
  • Comfort and experience working with computers, software applications, and databases such as SalesForce and Slack
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to advocate for your point of view and to influence others
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent time management and organization skills and ability to manage competing priorities in ways that advance high-quality outcomes

This position is currently remote, though we are expecting all employees to return to work in summer 2021, or as soon as we can safely return to the workplace following the COVID-19 pandemic. BAGLY’s program environments are community-based, frequently changing and dynamic, and hours are flexible, with significant evening and weekend programming.

Salary

$50,000 - $55,000Salary is commensurate with experience.
