The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing, a non-profit, outpatient mental health center specializing in bereavement and trauma, is currently seeking an experienced clinician to join our team.

Status: Part-Time, Hourly

Reports to: Clinical Director

Primary Function:

Provides direct mental health services to child and adult clients impacted by domestic violence and/or trauma. Position will be co-located for 8-16 hours/week at the NW Domestic Violence Intake Center.


  • Understands and upholds the Center’s philosophy and mission, maintains strict confidentiality, and abides by the Personnel Handbook and Clinical Manual guidelines
  • Provides timely and accurate documentation in Client Database (Apricot) and provide information and data as needed for clinical notes and reports
  • Provides crisis counseling to adults and children at DC SAFE’s NW Domestic Violence Intake Center (DVIC)
  • Contacts collateral professionals and others in the community regarding cases when appropriate
  • Meets with the supervisor regarding caseload and clinical and administrative concerns
  • Uses email to remain informed of Wendt Center business
  • Provides information for program and grant development as needed
  • Collects clinical data required to track client progress, for program outcome evaluation, and funder reporting


  • Mental Health License to practice in DC REQUIRED – LICSW or LPC (LGSW or LGPC ok if supplemented with at least 2 years of DV related experience
  • Proven professional background working in domestic violence (including stalking)
  • Proven professional training and experience working with individuals who have experienced physical and emotional trauma
  • Experience providing mental health support to children and adults
  • Training in crisis intervention preferred
  • At least four years of experience providing individual/family therapy
  • Independent, organized and flexible

Compensation and Benefits:

$40/hour plus ongoing training opportunities


As a part-time position most benefits do not apply, however there are many opportunities for training and clinical supervision
