We are looking for a productive, dynamic, career coaching/career development professional who is passionate about making an impact for low-income workers. Given the entrepreneurial nature of WorkLife Partnership, all team members execute a diverse portfolio of projects and contribute to the learning culture through execution of prototypes, supporting multiple initiatives, and collaborating across teams and partner organizations.


Job summary and responsibilities:

The Upskill Coach is responsible for assisting employed and underemployed clients navigate upskill training services and resources available in the workforce and training communities. The Upskill Coach will work closely with training partners, community partners, and program management to connect clients with opportunities aligned to their aptitudes and interests which also meet outcomes for long term success of both the program and its participants. Important functions include providing individual and targeted coaching with professional development and preparation for employment, identifying and connecting participants with education, skills training, work-based training and placement opportunities, and documenting all communication and follow-up efforts with participants, partners and providers. This specific coaching position will be heavily focused on the construction industry and the workforce and training trends associated with industry expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Client Support:

  • Meet with underemployed community members at family resource centers, community based organizations, and construction sites to determine their career goals and identify available training or development needed for client advancement
  • Coach clients regarding career development, including administering and interpreting career assessment instruments, coaching clients on upskill opportunities, and referring clients to needed training or employment
  • Maintain intake process for employed and underemployed workers that will serve as a basis for ongoing data and outcome tracking
  • Maintain accurate individual client records and plans of advancement, including maintaining accurate client tracking systems
  • Monitor and maintain protocol that provides support for high demand jobs, certificates, degree programs, and non-credit training options that lead to career advancement
  • Foster client self-sufficiency and self-advocacy through strategic alignment of upskill and resource services


Coordination and Communication:

  • Establish and maintain effective working partnerships with multiple stakeholders
  • Coordinate and track client referrals to training and continued education partners, and facilitate transition of clients with student services and support programs
  • Communicate regularly with key staff at community partner and government organizations and work collaboratively to develop and strengthen client support network, referrals, and placement
  • Work as a team and with the Customer Success Manager to be able to respond effectively to employer members

  • This position will meet with clients outside the office on a regular basis. A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required.

Strong candidates will also have:

  • Previous experience working in the construction industry or in a related field associated with construction industry recruitment and placement
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Location: Denver, CO; travel within Colorado up to 50%
  • Salary Range: $46,000-$50,000
