Work with McGruff the Crime Dog® and the National Crime Prevention Council to Take A Bite Out Of Crime®. You will become part of an innovative team dedicated to solving one of the nation’s most pressing domestic issues and the opportunity to introduce McGruff to a new generation of Americans.

We seek a passionate, mission-driven go-getter who can generate ideas, manage programs, execute deliverables with distinction, and help leave a larger “paw print” on crime prevention. If you are selected, you will play a critical role in the organization and have a major impact on our mission. You’ll have your hands in a wide variety of initiatives including project management, budget development and oversight, partner relations, developing program materials, and participating in brand campaigns. Whatever the task, you’ll be making a tangible contribution to our public education efforts and our other strategic initiatives.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead assigned programs/projects, ensuring effective communication with all stake holders and high-quality and timely execution of program deliverables.
  • Actively participate in brand promotion and campaign development, and execution.
  • Contribute to the drafting, designing and editing of various program materials, including internal and external communications, resources, publications, and media. Ensure an exceptional level of quality control.
  • Maintain awareness of program status and compile progress reports on ongoing projects.
  • Develop, manage, and adhere to budget parameters.
  • Develop and provide input into communications within the crime prevention field such as newsletters, Executive Director messages, Notes to the Field, and a variety of supporting materials.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Crime prevention, criminal justice, intellectual property, or related experience
  • Nonprofit management
  • Proven project and complex grant management skills and experience
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Government contracts management/administration
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Quality control/writing/editing
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), WordPress, and CRM management tools

 

LOCATION

Candidates need to be located in the Washington, D.C. metro area but may be able to work remotely until the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. After this, there will be some flexibility, but the person chosen will need to report to the office at least 2 days per week.
