Position Summary:  Children’s Aid’s foster care program places children with supportive families in their own neighborhoods when their parents cannot offer them the stability, safety, and support they need to thrive. The Foster Care program is prepared to deal with the widest range of child welfare situations—from temporary situations that allow birth families to address issues until they can be reunited, to specialized homes with highly trained foster parents for children who need constant care for chronic medical and developmental conditions, or children reacting to trauma. Our programs provide trainings to support individuals in these roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a dynamic team of educational and vocational professionals in our foster care program.
  • Provide services and support to adolescents in foster care by preparing them for adulthood.
  • Provide intensive casework services and fieldwork services for children and their birth and foster families with the goal of providing permanency as quickly as possible.
  • Conduct field visits to meet with youth and families in foster home and other home settings.
  • Coordinate and conduct training workshops for youth regarding attainment of skills for successful transition to adulthood.
  • Conduct intensive outreach to connect children and families with agency and community treatment resources.
  • Maintain written case records.
  • Other duties as necessary.
  • Training provided.

Qualifications:

  • Must have Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field, or must be on track to obtain a Master’s degree within 90 days of employment.
  • Foster Care experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
