PART-TIME, TEMPORARY POSITION (20 hours/week)


Responsible for strengthening adolescent immunization coverage among adolescents aged 11-18 years through outreach to providers, hospitals, local health departments, federally qualified health centers, and other community initiatives in Northern New Jersey.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide technical assistance on best practices to improve adolescent immunization coverage to healthcare facilities and providers with low coverage rates;
  • Assess vaccination coverage levels and immunization practices in provider offices;
  • Provide feedback and recommend quality improvement strategies to improve immunization practices and coverage levels;
  • Provide education and outreach to community groups and healthcare professionals to increase awareness on the benefits of adolescent immunizations;
  • Address barriers and identify opportunities/strategies for adolescent immunization;
  • Encourage use of NJIIS-based reminder/recall system to support/improve adolescent immunization rates;
  • Promote stronger provider recommendation of HPV vaccine more frequently and more effectively;
  • Attend and participate in state and local immunization coalition meetings in an official capacity;
  • Present on pertinent topics/programs/findings/best practices at events or conferences as requested;
  • Handle other duties as requested.


DESIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:

  • Masters of Public Health or equivalent
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Community health experience required
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Experience with social media required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Experience with immunization preferred
