Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) is a non-profit organization with a mission to align and equip leaders to use the power of business to prevent human trafficking. BEST builds the capacity of businesses to become socially responsible on the issue of human trafficking so that business employees can interrupt and prevent the exploitation of some of the most vulnerable people in society. BEST is also a member of the WASE Forward, a BIPOC-led, newly forming coalition of agencies promoting legislative policies to prevent commercial sexual exploitation. BEST is recruiting for a full-time Program Coordinator, who will support our programs and WASE Forward. This position will primarily assist our ACT programs as well as WASE Forward, with a focus on coordinating events, implementing plans, and organizing external and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, self-initiating, and a strong written and verbal communicator.

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

·      Plan and coordinate events

·      Implement project plans

·      Provide project management support for ongoing relationships and projects with stakeholders in private, public, and nonprofit sectors

·      Communicate regularly and promptly with stakeholders

·      Enter data into a CRM and pull reports

·      Coordinate and schedule meetings with stakeholders

·      Track legislative policy and keep stakeholders apprised

·      Other duties as needed


Required Capacities and Skills:

·      Commitment to BEST’s mission

·      Commitment to the Nordic Model as a policy for reducing human trafficking and prostitution

·      Excellent written and verbal communication

·      Excellent attention to detail

·      Strong proficiency learning technological tools like Microsoft products, Salesforce, and Asana to support project management and communication across teams

·      High degree of flexibility

·      Ability to produce high quality work

·      Excellent at executing a plan or idea and taking ownership to bring the plan to fruition

·      Intelligent, learns quickly, and adapts easily to new situations

·      Proactive and able to work independently

·      Good problem-solving skills

·      Ability to relate professionally and respectfully to a wide range of people, from human trafficking survivors to law enforcement officers to CEOs

·      Ability to continue working in the organization for the long-term

·      Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional or lived experience

 

Preferred Capacities and Skills:

·      Lived experience of prostitution/commercial sexual exploitation

·      Interest in working on legislative advocacy

·      Experience with Salesforce, Asana, Sharepoint, and Microsoft Teams preferred

 

Position Details

·      40 hours/week, non-exempt

·      Wage range of $41K-$52K, depending on experience

·      Benefits include health insurance, retirement, paid vacation leave, and paid sick leave

·      Position is on-site in our Seattle office for up to four days a week after COVID guidelines for employers are changed.

·      Position reports to the Sr. Program Manager and supports the Executive Director
