The Native American Rehabilitation Association (NARA) is a private non-profit that provides culturally appropriate physical & mental health services and substance abuse treatment for American Indians, Alaska Natives and other vulnerable people. Since 1970 we have provided culturally sensitive care and treatment to the urban Native American population in the Portland metro and surrounding areas. Programs include two integrated health sites, an intensive mental health location, a residential treatment facility, and an outpatient site focusing on alcohol and drug counseling. Respect, honor, and tradition are core values shared by NARA's employees.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our society as a whole has been devastating. Unfortunately, for those who are vulnerable and those who were in need of help prior to the COVID-19, the pandemic has caused immeasurable physical and mental harm. Thankfully, NARA has received additional funding throughout the pandemic that allows us to enhance and expand our existing programs. Specifically, we are able to add multiple mental health professional opportunities that support our mission, our client base and our community during the pandemic and beyond.

We currently have mental health professional opportunities available for the following specialties:

·        Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

·        Licensed Clinical Social Worker

·        Licensed Professional Counselor

·        Licensed Psychologist

·        Certified Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)

·        Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)

NARA requires a minimum of two years sobriety/clean time if in recovery and all potential hires are required to pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen and criminal background check.

Our agency is fully committed to supporting sobriety and as such it is a requirement that all new hires agree to model non-drinking, no-illicit drug use or prescription drug abuse behavior.

EEO/AA Employer/Vets/Disabled/Race/Ethnicity/Gender/Age. Within scope of Indian Preference, all candidates receive equal consideration. Preference in hiring is given to qualified Native Americans in accordance w/the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, US Code, Section 472 &473).

We are mission driven and spirit led!
