The vision of the National Foundation for Women Legislators is to empower and inspire elected women to become thought leaders who shape America’s future. As a non-partisan organization, we serve over 5,000 elected women from across the country, and provide them strategic resources for leadership development. We offer elected women opportunities to exchange of diverse legislative ideas and develop personal relationships across the aisle through our digital network and national events.

The Membership Outreach & Operations Associate serves as the direct contact to our 5,000+ NFWL elected women members, foster relationships with new and existing active members by engaging with them on a regular basis, and support initiatives to engage members in events and activities. Work with intimate team to execute nationally recruited events, digital content, and daily operations.

Role & Responsibilities

•       Manage all NFWL existing membership engagement programs

•       Develop and execute strategies for new membership outreach and recruitment of elected women

•       Manage recruitment, invitations, and securing participation of elected women for NFWL Events

•       Track NFWL membership and participation through HighRise database

•       Manage website updates – using Wordpress

•       Measure metrics of marketing and communication success

•       Manage all social media accounts in coordination with NFWL team – using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

•       Build and send monthly e-newsletter and email blasts – using MailChimp

•       Draft and disseminate all media/press releases in coordination with NFWL team

•       Design and update marketing materials – using Canva

•       Handle all day-to-day management and performance of back-office functions

•       Assist the Executive Director in developing and managing the foundation’s yearly budget

•       Serve as point person for orders or replacements of any office equipment or materials

•       Manage the filing process for all foundation invoices, expenses, and important documents

•       Coordinate with NFWL Bookkeeper to ensure all operational invoices are paid, monthly expense/retainer checks are written and mailed, etc.

•       Manage interns in-office

Basic Qualifications:

•       Bachelor’s degree

•       1-3 years of relevant experience

•       Proficiency with basic computer programs to include MailChimp, Wordpress, Highrise, Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, and Dropbox

•       Experience in database management

•       Experience in accounting management using QuickBooks

•       Basic understanding of in-office technology (phone, printer, scanner, etc.)

•       Understanding of social media

Preferred Qualifications:

•       Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines beyond normal business hours as needed

•       Detail-oriented with excellent organizational management skills are a must

•       Superb oral and written communications skills with excellent customer service

•       Ability to travel for the position when necessary

•       Nonprofit and experience working with elected officials and 501(c)(3) organizations is a plus
