About Jumpstart

Jumpstart envisions the day when every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.

A national early education organization with operations in 14 states plus Washington, DC, Jumpstart provides language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from under-resourced communities and promotes quality early learning for all. Through a research based curriculum, Jumpstart children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be ready for school, setting them on a path to close the achievement gap before it is too late. Jumpstart has served over 95,000 children with the support of more than 45,000 college students and community volunteers.

The organization focuses on three objectives: driving outcomes for young children through direct service programming and an evidence-backed curriculum; expanding the pipeline of qualified, diverse talent pursuing careers in early education through a comprehensive workforce pathways program; and championing policies that support the professionalization of the early childhood field and promote high-quality early education for all. Together these objectives improve the quality of the early education workforce and increase the life chances for young children. Join us to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed!
