Habitat for Humanity St Tammany West (HFHSTW) is one of the oldest affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International and is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. Guided by our Mission Statement “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope”, we have built or renovated nearly 300 homes in our community since 1981.
Our retiring President/CEO has successfully guided our affiliate for the past 11 years. Under his leadership a dynamic executive team and engaged board of directors has been assembled who work together to fulfill the mission of providing safe, affordable housing opportunities in our community. We are seeking a dynamic, passionate professional who will build on this foundation to ensure the continued success of the mission and our affiliate.
Position Summary: The President/CEO provides overall leadership for the affiliate in accordance with the policies, objectives, and directions of the affiliate’s Board of Directors to promote the overall vision, direction, health and growth of the affiliate. Basic responsibilities of the President/CEO include: commitment to the mission; lead staff and manage the affiliate; exercise responsible financial stewardship; lead and manage fundraising; follow the highest ethical standards to ensure accountability and transparency; engage the Board of Directors in planning and lead implementation; develop future leadership; build external relationships and serve as an advocate; and ensure the quality and effectiveness of affiliate programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
o Provides direction, training, guidance and supervision for management staff, and committee volunteers, and supports activities of Board committees
o Administers fiscal control, accountability, budget reporting; approves operational and building expenditures, and ensures that affiliate policies are carried out as directed
o Provides execution of all grant and contract performance requirements
o Assists Board Chair in setting the agenda for Board meetings, attends Board meetings and, with management staff, provides reports of all affiliate activities to the Board
· Leadership for Resource Development and Public Relations:
o Supports the V.P. of Development, Development Director and ReStore Director in:
§ Seeking out and applying for grants and other financial vehicles for affiliate to augment the dollars provided for overhead costs and building homes
§ Exploring funding sources within the community for continued operation
§ Working with the Board to establish a resource development strategy and assist in its implementation
§ Representing the affiliate to all interested organizations
§ Providing a positive visibility of the HFHSTW affiliate in the communities served
· Homeowner Services:
o Provide leadership for Homeowner Services department in the policy and procedures for home buyer selection and post-purchase support
o Work with Homeowner Services, Construction and Finance Departments to coordinate build schedule as appropriate to meet affiliate annual goals
o Leads Delinquency Committee to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations
· Real Estate Development/Construction:
o Identify and negotiate purchase of real estate as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the affiliate
o Coordinate infrastructure design and construction as necessary
o Work with Director of Construction to develop annual build schedule, house pricing, and cost saving measures as necessary
· Board Development:
o Assist in recruiting members of the community to serve on the HFHSTW Board of Directors and established committees
o Assist in providing new Board Member orientation
o Arrange training opportunities for Board and committee members
Required Qualifications:

· Computer literacy with demonstrated ability to utilize required software for efficiency

· Capacity to develop and maintain successful and productive business relationships with homebuyers, homeowners, volunteers, Board of Directors, staff, and those in the professional community
· Proven ability to plan and organize; including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, and meet strict time lines under considerable changes in priorities at times
