The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, the region's largest grantmaker and permanent charitable endowment, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Communications Associate. POSITION

The nature of this position is to provide administrative support with responsibilities to include clerical, customer service and departmental support.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be part of and support the execution of the Communications’ team tasks and goals and the Foundation’s institutional goals
  • Develop and implement office systems
  • Perform administrative duties (e.g., filing and archiving, meeting agendas and notetaking, basic proofreading for accuracy/context, maintaining inventory, lists review and maintenance)
  • Assist with outreach efforts to different audiences using various technologies and software
  • Provide exemplary customer service to multiple Foundation audiences and communicate through various methods, including phone, email, and written communications
  • Support internal and external meetings and events, including scheduling, attending, providing logistics, managing reservations, and recording, as required
  • Perform data entry into The Foundation’s relational database, and use other state-of-the-art technologies
  • Consistently gather data for analysis, produce reports and presentations as needed and assigned
  • Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Superior organizational skills; experience organizing and operating efficient office processes and procedures
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressure
  • Excellent written, analytical and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; may be waived for experience
  • Demonstrated administrative and data entry skills and highly skilled in technology and office software including Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and Google forms
  • Knowledge and prior use of survey tools (Survey Monkey), integrated email marketing platforms (Mailchimp/ConstantContact), project management software (Asana), social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and Zoom video platform a plus. Knowledge of InDesign graphic software a plus
  • Experience with a customer relationship management system, such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, a plus
  • Self-direction and ability to function as part of a team essential
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate new work while working on multiple projects at the same time
  • Demonstrated ability to track schedules, organize meetings, generate reports, and produce presentations 
  • Strong attention to detail with knowledge of business correspondence and office protocols
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment, delivering positive customer service and working with diverse populations
