General Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking to hire an Intake Specialist to assist applicants for rental relief programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and deliver exceptional customer service. The Intake Specialist will be the point of contact for applicants and requires excellent communication skills. Works with tenants and landlords to complete initial application, requests additional documents, reviews initial application for completeness and sends over to processing.

The Intake Specialist of the Community Wealth Building Pillar and works with other staff to further TRP's mission through the promotion of financial capability, sustainable homeownership, and wealth building.

  • As a key function within relief programs work directly with applicants to complete initial application.
  • Handle calls from new and current applicants and answer general questions.
  • Ensures that initial application has all documents required before sending over to processing team.
  • Maintain knowledge of relief programs and to answer client’s questions around the program.
  • Monitor all incoming data in CRM platform.
  • Maintain data integrity and reporting systems to effectively track client and program progress; adhere to all guidelines related to confidentiality of files and records.
  • Build, maintain, and encourage a productive working relationship with all staff members.
  • Carry out intake responsibilities of work one on one with applicants, submit complete applications, and address complaints
  • Listen to applicants’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Maintain required job skills and core professional competencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum Highschool diploma required
  • Two years’ experience in administration or related field (e.g. administrative assistant, customer service).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to communicate instructions to clients; questions and inquiries must be sufficiently addressed to avoid confusion and misinterpretation.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to listen well, convey thoughts clearly, and work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with people of diverse social, faith, economic, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.

Special Working Conditions and Demands

  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed; evenings and weekends required.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 per hour
