Summary
Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise (CNE) is seeking a Vice President of Neighborhood Investment and Community Engagement (NICE) who is passionate about reinvigorating stagnant real estate markets, creating new models for equitable development, and engaging resident stakeholders in planning and implementing neighborhood investment strategies. The VP of NICE is responsible for overseeing CNE’s framework for neighborhood investment and community engagement. This framework this designed to increase neighborhood home values, create high standards for property improvements, and integrate strong community engagement throughout the process.
The VP of NICE will also be responsible for identifying and sustaining strategic partnerships and seeking out investment and funding opportunities that can be leveraged with existing programs in pursuit of economic prosperity of our residents and communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and oversee the implementation of goals, objectives and strategies that are aligned with CNE’s Housing and Neighborhood Strategy
· Provide day-to-day management, supervision, leadership, direction, and coordination for all project and program team members, consultants and third parties, to ensure that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
· Lead performance metric development, and performance criteria to adequately measure NICE performance outcomes.
· Provide leadership on housing and neighborhood investment policy issues in Chattanooga.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Graduate degree in relevant field(s) - economics, sociology, urban planning/design, architecture, business administration, public administration plus 5 years min experience, or in lieu of formal educational requirements, 10 years relevant experience in community development and planning and/or real estate development/finance.
OR
• Bachelors degree in relevant field(s) - economics, sociology, urban planning/design, architecture, business administration, public administration plus 10 years min experience, or in lieu of formal educational requirements, 15 years relevant experience in community development and planning and/or real estate development/finance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Ability to manage a high workload, multiple projects, and competing priorities.
• Proven capacity to work independently and to lead experienced professionals in the teamwork of undertaking complex, multi-year strategies
• Proficiency in community redevelopment and cultivating public private partnerships.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with government, business, political and community leaders.
• Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals from various racial, cultural, ethnic backgrounds.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of local, state, and national policies, issues, and best practices regarding community re-development and affordable housing.
• Ability to gather, analyze and synthesize data.
• Strong computer skills; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other software programs.
