About the Job:

Friendship Children’s Center (FCC) is seeking a Center Director for our Infant/Toddler site. FCC has been operating for over 25 years. We are looking for someone with a strong, collaborative, engaging leadership style that inspires faculty, parents and community to lead our Infant/Toddler Center (ages 3 months to 2 1/2 years old).

FCC’s faculty is a remarkably talented, dedicated, experienced and diverse group of professionals. They are gifted, patient and innovative in their work with children. FCC’s faculty provides a safe and engaging classroom environment in which children can grow and advance at their own pace.

All of classes participate in a variety of curriculum enhancing activities including field trips, special visitors, an intergenerational program and supplemental classes. The infants and toddlers participate in weekly music classes and periodic field trips to local destinations and venues.

An ability to facilitate and support curriculum development and implementation.

The passion to advocate for the school both within and outside FCC.

An ability to navigate regulatory entities and experience with complying with federal, state and local regulations.

An ability to mentor and support teaching faculty.

An ability to ensure that decisions are made within set guidelines, policies, procedures and precedents.

An ability to assist the Executive Director in tasks as required.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing and supporting all staff.

Working in support of the Executive Director in order to run and manage the program effectively.

Lead day-to-day operations of the Infant/Toddler site.

Ability to lead when the Executive Director is unavailable.

Plan and execute teacher training and staff development days.

Evaluate and support all teaching staff.

Schedule and run parent tours, open houses and promotional weekend events.

Ability to help FCC work towards its strategic goals including NAEYC accreditation.

Candidate’s Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related degree with a Director’s Credential

Minimum 3 years experience as a lead teacher (preferably with Infants and Toddlers) and one year of supervisory experience.

CPR/First Aid Certification

Child Abuse Training

SIDS Training

Shaken Baby Syndrome Training

Current medical examination including PPD testing and current on all vaccinations (including measles)

Criminal Records Background Check

3 Letters of Reference (professional)

Ability to lift and carry infants and toddlers
