Climate Power has an immediate opening for a Digital Platforms Associate or Senior Associate to work with the Digital Platforms team to drive content, engagement, and rapid response strategies for Climate Power’s website and social media properties

Climate Power is an independent strategic communications and paid media operation focused on building the political will and public support for bold climate action. Founded by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, League of Conservation Voters, and Sierra Club, Climate Power integrates hard-hitting research, polling, state and national earned media, digital and paid media to influence the national conversation, embolden leaders to take immediate, bold climate action, and expose climate deniers and their oil and gas lobby allies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Digital Platforms Director and team to drive content, engagement, and rapid response strategies for Climate Power’s website and social media properties. 
  • Draft copy and manage daily content schedules for digital platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Drive daily social media engagement across platforms, including responding to breaking news or news of the day, and engaging with partners on specific platforms.
  • Identify rapid response opportunities that allow Climate Power to insert itself into key national moments and drive online conversations. 
  • Collaborate with the Platforms Director and team to design and implement audience growth strategies for Climate Power’s website, YouTube channel, and social media properties.
  • Collaborate with Climate Power’s creative teams to generate visual and video products for distribution across platforms, including the website, YouTube channel, and social media properties.
  • Partner with other Climate Power teams to assist in the execution of live virtual events like Instagram and Facebook Lives.
  • Monitor social listening tools like Newswhip to identify trending articles for incorporation into daily social schedule.
  • Compile and analyze social performance and audience development reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in digital or communications, ideally at a nonprofit, public policy, or political organization.
  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate complicated ideas in simple terms; excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Social media management skills: Ability to manage a consistent brand across multiple platforms in a timely manner; familiarity with social media growth tracking and analytics.
  • Project management skills: Ability to manage tasks and workflow and work within the team to meet deadlines; strong attention to detail.
  • Collaboration skills: Ability to pitch ideas and keep staff up to date on projects; flexibility to work closely with teams across disciplines; ability to work as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills: Self-motivated ability to solve complex problems in an innovative, effective, and timely manner.

This full time exempt position reports to Climate Power’s Director of Digital Platforms.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and responsibilities. The salary range for this position starts at $56,000. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
