Title:               Administrator & Communication Coordinator – for the Sisters of the Good Shepherd-Province of

NY/Toronto and Good Shepherd Volunteers

 

Reports to:      Province Leader, Business Administrator, Executive Director of Good Shepherd

Volunteers                 

 

Location:         25-30 21st Avenue, Astoria, NY 11105

 

Hours:             Full-time, Monday – Friday, 40 hours

 

 

Job Summary:

Provide administrative and communication support to the Province Leader, Province Team and the Good Shepherd Volunteer program, ensuring a smooth running office. This includes communication with all levels of the Congregation, Good Shepherd Volunteer’s staff and volunteers, and other parties both internal and external. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Administrator

·        Provide administrative support - write routine correspondence, schedule meetings and conference calls, book travel arrangements, maintain various records & statistics

 

·        Handle all day-to-day office operations - welcome visitors, sort mail, keep inventory of supplies, maintain files, manage equipment, schedule booking calendar & maintenance for company cars, update contact information, use and maintain the Listserv

 

·        Work with the IT consultant to trouble-shoot Microsoft Office computer programs

 

 

Communication Coordinator for Good Shepherd Volunteers

·        Produce regular content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Volunteer blog) 

 

·        Create quarterly newsletters to communicate with alumni and the greater GSV community and assist in developing monthly newsletters to current volunteers

 

·        Manage college campus outreach for new volunteers through social media and email


 

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of administrative and project coordination experience

·        Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel, Access, Power Point with strong computer and internet research skills

·        Gracious and professional demeanor

·        Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well with staff, clients and vendors in a small office environment

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills

·        Organized, independent worker, who is self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task

·        A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

·        Valid driver’s license

 

Salary range of $45-$55,000 commensurate with experience
