Salary starts at $60,000 and is commensurate with experience.

The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms by guiding justice innovators, nationally and internationally. The Center creates operating projects that have been documented to reduce the use of jail and prison, assist victims of crime, and strengthen communities.

The Staten Island Justice Center (Justice Center) offers an array of programming for both youth and adults in Staten Island, focusing on engaging those with current or past justice involvement. The Justice Center provides judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys with alternative community sentencing options that hold individuals accountable in a way that is meaningful, proportionate, and restorative. The goal is to provide participants with individual and group services that help them to avoid future contact with the justice system and promote swift case resolutions that bolster public confidence in justice.

Staten Island Justice Center is seeking a Coordinator for the Supervised Release Program. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail, providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with bail-eligible felony and misdemeanor charges. The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day case management of pre-trial services, including providing individual and task supervision to Case Managers and Supportive Services Specialists; ensuring that staff have access to an updated directory of social service providers; and maintaining relationships with local agencies that provide supportive services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a team of Case Managers and Specialists in clinically-informed practices and task supervision;
  • Schedule and facilitate team meetings and group supervisions for staff;
  • Provide pre-trial staff with professional development, training opportunities, and management support, as needed;
  • Provide supervision and court monitoring for participants admitted to SRP through regular in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and/or text messages; this may include communication with clients on nights and weekends;
  • Provide comprehensive, clinically-informed case management services and service referrals to individuals, to help address issues such as substance use, mental health, trauma, domestic violence, housing, and vocational needs;
  • Monitor and report on compliance to court stakeholders and work with defense and district attorneys to bring program participants into compliance;
  • Complete all necessary documentation and input data into a computer database;
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with community partners who can provide age-appropriate interventions and services to court-involved individuals;
  • Organize site visits and presentations with social service partners with the goal of creating linkages and allowing for staff to learn about services and resources that will benefit Supervised Release participants;
  • Provide coverage for staff, as needed;
  • Support case assignment and auditing process for pre-trial staff;
  • Work closely with Supervised Release management to ensure policies and procedures are consistent across the program;
  • Manage data, track and monitor program performance, and oversee evaluation activities;
  • Coordinate collaboration and communication between operations and clinical staff as needed;
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings;
  • Assist the Clinical Director with the development and implementation of new policies, programs, initiatives, and/or interventions;
  • Assist with other Justice Center intakes, assessments, and other related tasks, as needed;
  • Attend Staten Island Justice Centers’ events after hours, as needed;
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the Staten Island Justice Center and department activities; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.
