About this position

PPGNHI’s Education team is seeking a dynamic Community Outreach Educator for Kitsap County, focusing on Teen Council facilitation. 


This position is part-time time (30 hours per/week) and will be based in Bremerton, WA. 

 

The ideal candidate for this position loves working with youth, interacting with community partners, has experience working in Kitsap County, models diversity awareness, and has experience with LGBTQ community. 


What you’ll be doing

Facilitating of a Teen Council, which includes recruiting, training and supporting 10 – 18 teens from high schools. 


Delivering high quality, medically accurate education programs to various community organizations

Customizing or developing lesson plans and curricula when appropriate. 

    

Assuming responsibly for implementing sexual health curriculum and facilitating evidence based programs. 

 

Conducting outreach to expand services in designated service area and assists community organizations in selecting and delivering appropriate programs. 


Facilitating community advisory and/or youth advisory groups as required by grants or projects.

You’ll need to have:

BA/BS in related field 

 

Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship building skills 


Familiarity with communities in Kitsap County 

 

Minimum of two years of experience as an educator, trainer, or in community service. 


Reliable transportation – travel within Kitsap County is required 

 

Extra points for:

Bi-lingual - Spanish & English 


Two years of experience facilitating youth groups preferred
