Reporting to the Vice President, Program Development & Strategy, the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) Research & Program Evaluation Fellow is a two-year full-time contract position. The Research Fellow will lead the quantitative and qualitative research efforts to improve program effectiveness. The Fellow will produce original reports for public release that will increase the visibility of JRF and inform the national dialogue around closing the achievement gap and “leveling the playing field” both on campus and in the global workforce.

Essential Functions

  • Design and implement rigorous evaluation of the JRF four-year scholarships, comprehensive support services, fellowships, JRF Impact, and related events
  • Identify and assess research gaps around the issues related to serving high-achieving black college students
  • Produce original reports for public release around closing the achievement gap and “leveling the playing field” both on campus and in the global workforce
  • Use data mining, machine learning and advanced statistical methods to gain insights, actionable information, and measurable outcomes
  • Create dashboards and other data visualizations to track progress towards goals, inform scholarship program success and institutional improvement with appropriate KPIs and metrics

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field required
  • Doctoral degree preferred
  • Two to three years’ experience in higher education preferred

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing skills, particularly related to reports that will be reviewed by varied levels of stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of research methodology, data analysis, and program evaluation using qualitative and quantitative techniques
  • Ability to perform quantitative data analysis on nearly 50 years of JRF scholarships
  • Experience with qualitative data collection methods including interviews, case studies, focus groups, and observational research
  • Familiarity and experience conducting research and analysis on issues related to higher education, psychology in education, or social inequalities
