The Director of Individual Giving will play a central role in the growth of individual giving and a successful annual campaign at an exciting time of expansion at The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious development professional looking to move into a leadership position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and execute strategies to engage and deepen relationships with individual donors
  • Develop cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for current, prospective, and lapsed supporters 
  • Implement a donor management system and design portfolios for key staff and volunteers
  • Build and manage relationships with a portfolio of donors
  • Work with volunteer leaders to elevate and grow women’s philanthropy, children’s mental health funding, and leadership giving efforts
  • Expand direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns
  • Working closely with board and development team members, manage signature fundraising events 
  • Report regularly on giving activity and progress made toward revenue and engagement goals

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Demonstrated success growing individual giving programs
  • Knowledge of strategies and techniques to fuel annual fund growth
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, ideally with mid-size/large team 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, comfort interacting with donors at all giving levels and partnering with leadership-level volunteers
  • Ability to write effectively, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Experience planning and managing events that achieve goals
  • Commitment to excellence and best practice 
  • Enthusiasm for The Brookline Center mission 
  • Familiarity with relationship management databases
  • Bachelor’s degree required
