    Description

    Bridges Baltimore is seeking passionate educators to join our Middle School Enrichment Team for the 2024-25 school year. These teachers will provide engaging extracurricular classes to Baltimore City middle school students from the Bridges sites at Gilman School, The St. Paul’s Schools, and The Bryn Mawr School. Classes meet monthly on Saturday mornings, 9:30am - 12:30pm. Teachers are encouraged to bring their passion projects to our Bridges community.

    Teachers will develop and deliver enrichment experiences that balance enjoyment and education. The lessons can be cumulative but should also accommodate for some student absence. Class size will be under 20 students per class. Teachers must share lesson plans and supply lists via email/video conference at least two weeks prior to each event.

    Previous topics of enrichment classes include:

    o Athletics (Pickleball, Volleyball, Lacrosse, Tennis)

    o Coding

    o Cooking

    o Creative Writing

    o Dance

    o Engineering (STEM)

    o Entrepreneurship

    o Fashion Design

    o Financial Literacy

    o Foreign Language

    o Robotics

    o Visual Art

    Positions:

    6th grade

    o 1 prep email/video conference per event; 2 classes at the event, each lasting 50 minutes

    o Fall – The Bryn Mawr School - October 5; St. Paul’s School for Boys - November 2

    o Spring - Gilman School - February 8, March 8, April 5

    7th grade

    o 1 prep email/video conference per event; 2 classes at the event, each lasting 50 minutes

    o Fall - St. Paul’s School for Boys - November 2

    • Chaperone a field trip on December 7 (BCPSS School Choice fair - no classes)

    o Spring - Gilman School - February 8, March 8, April 5

    8th grade

    o 1 prep email/video conference per event; 2 classes at the event, each lasting 50 minutes

    o Fall - St. Paul’s School for Boys - November 2; The Bryn Mawr School - December 7

    o Spring - Gilman School - February 8, March 8, April 5

    • Ideal candidates will commit to all five (5) dates for their position. If necessary, Bridges will consider candidates who can commit to either all Fall or all Spring dates.
    • When applying, indicate your availability and at least two potential enrichment topics you would like to teach.

    Time:

    9:30am -12:30pm during monthly Saturday events

    The Bryn Mawr School: December 7

    Spring: Gilman School: February 8, March 8, & April 5

    Compensation:

    o $180 per session, minimum of two sessions, maximum of five sessions
