About NAF:

Since 1980, NAF has been partnering with high-need communities to improve outcomes for students by implementing NAF academies – small learning communities within existing high schools. NAF has grown from one NAF Academy of Finance in New York City to hundreds of academies across the country focusing on growing industries including: finance, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, and health sciences.


Scope of Work:

Time spent will not exceed 60 days before December 31, 2020. There is the potential, but no guarantee, for this work to be extended into 2021.

 

A NAF Network Expansion Independent Contractor serves as the liaison between NAF, identified school districts and industry community to broker relationships which provide access to all elements of the NAF educational design (Academy Development & Structure, Curriculum & Instruction, Work-Based Learning and Advisory Boards) which support the future success of NAF academy students.


The Network Expansion Independent Contractor will provide services for the identified school districts (additional extended services are outlined below). For this short-term agreement, the identified districts will exclude YOP and FastTrack activities. Some districts maybe disaffiliating and will be managed by Senior Managing Director (Strategic Portfolio Manager).


The Network Expansion Independent Contractor will support NAF’s strategic plan for the identified school districts, in accordance with NAF’s Educational Design and Strategic Plan by providing services to districts by working collaboratively with district staff, school based staff, NAF Senior Managing Director of Network Expansion, and other NAF staff designees to assist academies in seeking high quality academy programs that facilitate the NAFTrack Certification completers in identified school districts.


Services will be rendered in three key areas for the identified academies: 

Academy Quality through support and guidance with the NAF Continuous Improvement Cycle

  1. Support academies complete Continuous Improvement Cycle – NAFTrack, Data Center and Academy Assessment including Action Plan
  2. Provide technical support and ensure access to systems and resources
  3. Use current and relevant data to inform practice and services offered.

Assist to organize Virtual Work-Based Learning Activities

  1. Collaborate with academy leaders to organize guest speaking engagements with academies and/or with district identified academies
  2. Present opportunities to District staff and NAF for worksite tours at national partner facilities and work with district staff to implement for targeted academies
  3. Collaborate with identified California districts contacts to schedule volunteers for mock interviews

Advisory Board Support and Delivery of Virtual Extended Services as applicable

  1. Support onboarding needs & attend advisory board meetings where NAF BOD/STEM/NAFTrack partners are engaged
  2. Responsible for the planning and delivery of various professional development opportunities virtually, to move academies to a higher level on the academy development continuum
  3. Use current and relevant data to inform practice and services offered.
