Description

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) currently has an opening for a Part-time, Per-diem Security Officer, at our William street office in Manhattan. 

 

This position will be expected to fill in for the regular Security Officers upon request from the Director of Government Relations and Administration. The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety of clients and staff during Therapeutic Visitation sessions. Security Officer responsibilities include: greeting clients as they enter the office, ensuring that proper procedures are followed to prohibit parents from crossing paths, scanning parents with hand-held metal detector, and conducting appropriate interventions as needed.

 

A State Security Guard certificate and training is required. Law enforcement experience a plus. Previous experience working with difficult clients in a social service setting and managing aggressive behavior training and crisis de-escalation training preferred. Excellent communication techniques are required for this position. The position is paid at the rate of $18.00/per hour.
