A current student seeking part-time employment.
Screen visitors to determine how to help or direct them to the appropriate person or office.
Assist with the prioritization of office activities and delegate to and monitor work of student and/or casual employees. Assist with hiring new student and casual employees.
Maintain inventory of general office supplies.
Update department web pages. Utilize desktop publishing software to design and produce materials for the department.
Maintain and monitor moderately complex department budgets and/or grants. Review expenses/invoices for accuracy, investigate discrepancies and report results to supervisor.
Answer telephones and screen calls. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the departmental offerings and policies.
Interact with students, faculty and staff regarding specific issues, resolve basic problems and consult with other department members to resolve more complex issues.
Perform other clerical duties: photocopy and fax materials, process forms, maintain office files and records, pick up/deliver mail and materials, etc.
Schedule appointments, maintain individual and/or department calendar, make arrangements for meetings and travel to and from the University.
Compose letters and correspondence for supervisor’s review and approval. Proofread documents for accuracy and completeness. Perform other general word processing and data entry duties. Create and update spreadsheets.
This role has flexible work hours between Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, 14 hours/week scheduled in the fall and 10 hours/week scheduled in the spring, with summers off.
