Position Summary

The No on 2117 campaign is seeking experienced and motivated organizers to manage community-based campaign activities to defend Washington state’s leading-edge climate policy. The campaign is supported by environmental and business leaders, labor unions and environmental justice advocates, Tribal Nations, and many others.

The Field Organizer will be responsible for executing a robust organizing plan in their assigned communities in the state. They will work closely with an extensive and diverse coalition to achieve the voter outreach goals of the campaign. The position will report to the Field Director. The position will require campaign hours, including evenings and weekends, and is based in Washington state. Ideally, the organizer will live in the assigned community.

What You Will Do
  • Drawing from the statewide field plan, localize and implement a localized field plan that includes both relation and traditional organizing tactics
  • Work closely with the outreach team, local leaders and coalition partners to recruit, train, and manage volunteers
  • Meet the voter contact metrics laid out in the field plan
  • Collaborate with organizing teams from partner campaigns and coordinated campaign offices
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders
  • Analyze data to track progress in voter contact universes and make voter outreach data-informed decisions
  • Utilize innovative voter contact tools
  • Plan and execute campaign events, rallies, and other grassroots activities to build momentum and visibility for the campaign
  • Additional duties as assigned
What You Bring

Qualified candidates must be highly organized, able to multitask and manage multiple deadlines, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. An ideal organizing director candidate will have:

  • At least 1 cycle of campaign organizing experience or equivalent volunteer experience
  • Both traditional and relational organizing experience
  • Familiarity with other campaign software (Google Suite, Mobilize, texting platforms, Every Action, Action Network, relational organizing apps, etc.)
  • Quick problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
  • A growth mindset and ability to take and implement feedback
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once and keep calm in stressful situations
  • Willingness/eagerness to get creative and try new approaches and tactics to reach and connect with voters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable transportation for travel around the state
