Grants Administrator
Reports to: Director, Grants and Contracts Administration
Status: FT
FLSA status: Exempt

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Note: This is a local position based in Mountain View, CA
Relocation Assistance is not available.
The Grants Administrator is responsible for supporting the Director of Grants and Contracts Administration. They support all aspects of the grants process including identification of solicitations and proposal requirements, preparation of budgets and proposal templates, managing filing systems and reporting requirements, and assisting scientists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and maintain detailed and organized files of proposals and awards, from inception to closeout.
· Create and maintain proposal and reporting templates.
· Assure compliance for all SETI submitted proposals.
· Maintain various databases related to grants administration, and regulatory reporting. i.e., NTSR and NSSC.
· Track status of award funding and reporting through data bases.
· Assist in budget preparation and documentation for proposals.
· Provide administrative support and procedural advice to potential and current SETI Institute Principal Investigators in the preparation and submission of grant proposals.
· Identify funding opportunities and provide regular communications with scientists.
· Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Organized and attention to detail.
· Ability to multitask and work under pressure to make deadlines.
· Excellent oral and written communications skills.
· Interest in SETI Institute scientific goals.
· Demonstrated knowledge of office software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
· Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Frequent to continuous sitting
· Frequent to continuous use of computer monitor, mouse and keyboard
· Frequent use of standard office equipment
· Occasional bending, reaching, kneeling
