  • We support sport for development programmes which enhance the social and emotional development of children and young people in disadvantaged communities, reduce the impact of violence, conflict and discrimination in their lives, inspire healthy behaviour change and increase their educational achievements and employability skills.
  • We strengthen the sport for development sector through impact measurement, research and knowledge-sharing
  • We highlight serious social issues faced by children and young people and unlock greater resources for the sector through effective advocacy and communications


As a key member of the Development team, the post holder will be responsible for managing and securing a range of high value partnerships across a broad range of sectors, raising significant funds to allow the charity to fulfil its vision and mission. This will involve growing our existing relationship with corporate partners including Mercedes-Benz and Richemont in new markets as well as other corporate, institutional and individual donors as required. Joining Laureus at an exciting time, this individual will play a key role in the delivery of fundraising strategy for 2018 and beyond. They will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks that meet ambitious income targets and achieve growth year on year. 

There are opportunities for the post holder/s to be based in London or New York City.

Key responsibilities include:

a) Manage and grow our existing relationship with Mercedes-Benz in new markets, increasing awareness of our partnership both internally with MB employees and dealerships and externally to MB customers

b) Manage and grow our existing relationship with Richemont in relevant markets, increasing awareness of our partnership both internally with employees and across the Maisons

c) Manage and grow relationships with existing corporate partners, increasing income and engagement

d) Build and activate new corporate/institutional pipeline for long-term funding

e) Arrange and support activities that engage our Global Partners

f) Proactively work with the wider organisation to including Laureus Brand, Commercial, Communication and Talent Management teams

g) Build and maintain relationships with Laureus Sport for Good supporters, through communication and engagement in events


  • Develop the relationship with Mercedes Benz in new markets, with a focus on creating meaningful engagement opportunities with employees, dealers and customers as required
  • Manage and develop the relationship with Richemont in relevant markets, with a focus on creating engagement opportunities and increasing awareness across the Maisons
  • Create innovative events and activities that raise awareness of Laureus Sport for Good with key stakeholders
  • Proactively build a pipeline of new business and corporate leads that can support our vision and mission
  • Work alongside Global Development Director, Head of Development, and team members to proactively seek new partnership opportunities for Laureus Sport for Good, such as Charity of the Year partnerships
  • Work alongside Events Manager and Team Operations Manager to create innovative and attractive engagement opportunities for individual fundraisers, with a focus on our Global Partners
  • Support relationship management of corporate partners both in the UK/US and globally
  • Support relationship management of institutional funders both in the UK/US and globally
  • Support relationship management of High Net Worth Individuals
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (incl Laureus Sport for Good team, Trustees, Laureus Talent team, Communications, Marketing) and external (corporate sponsors, individual donors, suppliers)
  • Ensure partnerships raise awareness of the work of Laureus Sport for Good, and align with our vision and mission
  • Represent Laureus Sport for Good within the sector, including at events, conferences and coalitions



  • Experience of building and managing relationships, especially within the corporate sector
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility trends and the ability to think strategically to build partnerships
  • Proven budgeting and financial management skills
  • Experience of working with institutional donors




  • Experience of working with high profile individuals, including from the sport, entertainment and other sectors
  • Experience of working with and managing relationships with high net worth individuals
  • Experience in Sport for Development, sport, or related fields


  • People person who naturally forms relationships, builds on them and maintains them, with high level influencing skills
  • Ability to liaise with people of all levels and all backgrounds, including commercial/corporate, charitable and international
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships to achieve event and income objectives
