Position Title: Engagement and Programs Assistant

Reports to: Vice President of Engagement and Programs

Start Date: Immediately

Location: The position is located in Washington, DC

Position 

The Engagement and Programs Assistant is a pivotal role in three main areas of J Street’s work.

  1. They will be supporting the smooth implementation of marquee events and national programs for J Street’s various audiences and stakeholders. The person in this role will maintain and refine essential logistics processes for the team’s work to support events and educational programs at the National level. The person in this position will play a key role in the execution of J Street’s National Conference and National Leadership Summits by providing logistical and programmatic support, liaising with venues and external vendors, tracking and communicating out event data (rooming lists, budgets, etc.) and playing a key role in the day-of execution of events. They will also be the primary events liaison to J Street’s student programming and will work closely with the J Street U team to plan and execute twice yearly Leadership Institutes. At times, they may also provide logistics support for J Street’s end of year fundraising events. To succeed in this role, the applicant will be highly organized and enjoy event or project planning.
  2. They will also play a primary role around data management for the Events Team. 
  3. They will provide other logistical and administrative support to the J Street U team, Regional Team and Events Team as well as executive assistant support to the Vice President of Engagement and Programs 

The following two distinct skill-sets are critical to success in this position:

  • Project Logistics Management: Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without dropping the ball. Being able to respond to the needs of multiple teams. 
  • Data Management: Experience in collecting, maintaining and analyzing data. This is an entry-level position.

  • An interest in J Street’s mission and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and US foreign policy in the Middle East and US politics

Compensation

USD 41,000 - USD 45,000

Benefits

Compensation, Benefits and Employment Status

The salary range for this full-time non-exempt position is $41,000-$45,000 depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid vacation and sick leave, personal leave, generous parental and family leave, paid time off on many federal and Jewish holidays, health and dental insurance, company-paid life insurance, a 401k program, commuter benefits, and a flexible spending account. This is a bargaining unit position.

J Street recognizes a staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is included in J Street’s bargaining unit and is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
