CSH operates in the U.S. (New York, Washington, D.C., and remote) as a project that is fiscally sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc. Position Overview

The Operations Manager will work in close collation with the Executive Director, leading on matters relating to operations, such as finances, human resources, and information technology.

Key Responsibilities

Finances

·      In close collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and manage the organization’s annual budget.

·      Partner with CSH fiscal sponsor, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc. to ensure the accuracy of monthly financial statements.

·      Forecast expenses to support sound financial decisions and to inform fundraising efforts.

·      Ensure the Executive Director and CSH Management Committee have a timely and accurate understanding of the organization’s financial health.

Human Resources

·      Support a healthy organizational culture.

·      Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of CSH staff, interns, and consultants. Advertise open job positions, conduct initial candidate screenings, coordinate interviews with hiring managers, and engage with candidates.

·      Establish and update organizational salary structure.

·      Liaise with CSH fiscal sponsor, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc. to ensure accurate human resource records.

·      Facilitate training opportunities for the ongoing development of CSH staff.

Information Technology and General Operations

·      With the Executive Director, develop, maintain and continually improve systems to support a robust internal infrastructure, to meet the needs of staff and organizational needs.  

·      Liaise with the IT contractor to ensure that staff are supported with troubleshooting, password management, computer maintenance, software purchases and licensing, and cyber security.

·      Oversee procurement and manage all contracts, including those related to office space and IT.

·      Cultivate, manage and maintain relationships with vendors and other service providers.

Qualifications

Professional Experience

●     Three - five years progressively responsible experience in nonprofit administration, inclusive of finance and human resources

Strategic and Technical Expertise

·      Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and procedures;

●     Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft programs;

●     Ability to analyze budgetary information and assess organizational capacity; 

●     Knowledge of Concur is an advantage;

●     Excellent project management skills and keen attention to detail. Ability to meet multiple deadlines by planning and maintaining a high level of organization; 

●     Excellent problem-solving skills;  

●     Flexibility to work as part of a team or independently to meet goals;  

●     Demonstrated commitment to ethical business practices, and ability to generate trust and credibility with colleagues across all levels of the organization; and

●     Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop productive relationships with partners and consultants
