The Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action is seeking Project Management Associate or a Project Management Specialist.

About CPD and CPDA

The Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action (together, CPD/A) work to promote equity, opportunity, and a dynamic democracy in partnership with innovative base-building organizations, organizing networks and alliances, and progressive unions across the country. We currently work with more than 53 affiliates in 34 states and Puerto Rico, and build the strength and capacity of democratic organizations to envision and advance a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. About the Position

The Communications Department at CPD/A is an integral part of our vision to build political power and win tangible victories that improve the lives of low-wage workers, immigrants, and communities of color. With your help, the department will ignite our base into action, strengthen our collective capacity for social change, and tell the story of our work, our affiliates, and our vision for the world as it could be. We are seeking a Project Management Associate or Specialist who will help the Communications Department manage a complex and exciting portfolio of projects. The Project Management Associate or Specialist will report to the Chief of Communications.

Primary Responsibilities

The Project Management Associate or Specialist will:

  • Create, maintain, and manage systems for receiving, assigning, tracking and reporting on incoming requests, tasks, projects for the Communications Department
  • Design and refine tools for gathering and managing information needed develop communications strategies and work plans
  • Support effective and efficient communication between the communications specialists and other CPD/A staff by helping to set up effective meeting spaces, identify agenda content, and other ways of sharing information.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chiefs of Communications, including scheduling, logistical support, expense reimbursements, and .
  • Provide other support as needed to ensure an effective and strategic Department.

 Job Requirements 

  • At least 3 years experience in nonprofit administration or operations or in supporting communications work; 
  • Familiarity with communications strategies -- media relations and digital communications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social, racial and economic justice;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to be diplomatic and have discretion in dealings with others;
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail as well as the big picture
  • Ability to work well independently and to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment;
  • Dedication to organizational excellence;
  • Problem-solving perspective.
