Position Summary

Working directly with the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator supports the day-to-day development operations including, management of the donor database, gift processing and receipting, development reports, donor communications, grant management tasks, prospect research, and fundraising and advocacy events.  

Position Responsibilities

·      Support all fundraising and development initiatives.

·      Maintain accurate donor and prospect information in Raiser’s Edge database.

·      Ensure timely entry of gifts and production of acknowledgement letters.

·      Track donor contributions and pledges against fundraising targets.

·      Draft compelling donor communications letters and appeals.

·      Assist with research and drafting of grant proposals.

·      Assist grant consultant with documentation and reporting.

·      Develop and send mass emails in Luminate and Raiser’s Edge.

·      Work with Finance department to reconcile gift revenue on a monthly basis.

·      Draft development event materials (invitations, signage, etc.).

·      Assist in planning, execution and follow-up of fundraising and stewardship events.

·      Assist with development related social media messaging.

·      Maintain accurate donor files (print and electronic).

·      Prepare regular fundraising and donor reports.

·      Foster and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

·      Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned by Director of Development.

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·      Bachelor’s Degree

·      Minimum of three years of relevant nonprofit experience, development experience preferred.

·      Minimum of one year of experience managing CRM databases (such as Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT) in a nonprofit setting.

·      Desire to build a professional career in fundraising/development.

·      Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

·      Strong communications and writing skills.

·      Excellent time management skills with ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

·      Ability to be self-directed, prioritize, problem solve and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.

·      Ability to manage confidential information with diplomacy and tact.

·      High level of proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

·      Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media platforms preferred. 

·      Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

·      Ability to work overtime, as necessary, for events and time-sensitive projects.
