Media Power Youth (MPY), a nonprofit based in Manchester, NH, seeks an Executive Director/CEO with leadership, managerial, operational and marketing expertise to guide MPY in providing high-quality, evidence-based media literacy programs, locally, regionally and nationally. MPY empowers youth to lead safe, healthy and successful lives through smart use of media.
Since 2001, MPY has provided media literacy education to educators, parents and providers of youth services and youth. Now, with evidence based status demonstrating effectiveness, MPY is building a regional and national presence through online distribution of resources for parents, educators and professionals serving children. The successful candidate will achieve financial and mission goals through management of operations, programs, earned income, and resource development.
Manage overall operations including finances, staffing, resources and earned income development, marketing, communications, board of directors, customer relations and nonprofit, foundation, government and business relationships and partnerships
Lead innovative product and services development and marketing
Build strong relationships at the local, regional, state and national levels
Be a visible presence through public speaking, media and partnership building
Manage revenue generation activities including fundraising, grant writing, donor solicitation and earned income
Support all board activity including meetings, reports on operations and finances and board committees.
Ensure the successful continuity of operations
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven record in managing nonprofit or business operations including planning and management to achieve mission and goals
Experience and achievement in business/nonprofit management and leadership: finance, marketing, strategic partnerships, program planning and management, resource development
Experience in education including web based product development and distribution
Resource development experience including fund raising, grant writing and donor relations
Excellent written, oral and media communication skills
Strong organizational and marketing skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage programs in media literacy, youth at-risk prevention, health promotion, parenting, professional development and youth media production
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred with a minimum 7 years of leadership, program management/marketing and staff supervisory experience
