PGM ONE is hiring for a Development and Operations Director. The Director will work alongside the PGM ONE staff and Leaders Council to lead fundraising and provide oversight and management of the day-to-day administrative and operational tasks of the organization. They will lead fundraising efforts for the organization and will be responsible for designing and implementing a fundraising strategy that sustains and grows the organization. The Director will create structures, processes, and systems necessary to manage the organization’s current operational activities and its projected changes. Additionally, they will develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, contractors, partners, vendors, and sponsors. They will play a key role in ensuring that PGM ONE’s anti-oppression values are reflected in the organization’s systems, procedures, and relationships.  

The key responsibilities include:


Fundraising and Development (60%)

  ● Develops and implements a fundraising plan aimed at sustaining contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations; cultivates relationships with current and prospective funders and donors; identifies potential sources of funding through grants, contracts, and public-private partnerships.

● Manage all grants through their full lifecycle from writing proposals through final reporting.

● Create and design meaningful opportunities for collaboration with sponsors/partners

● Networking through events to build relationships with potential funders and identifyfunding opportunities

● Craft material and collateral for donor base, including newsletters, 1-pagers, and social media content


Operational and Administrative Fiscal Sponsorship Management (40%)

● Liaison between PGM ONE and fiscal sponsor, Earth Island Institute

● Monitors and maintains PGM ONE organizational budget

● Evaluates organizational systems and procedures according to PGM ONE values and priorities; reimagines systems and applies improvements

● Manages purchasing processes and coordinates material and resources allocation

● Revises and/or formulates policies with the Leaders Council and coordinate their implementation

● Manages relationships/agreements with external partners and vendors

● Coordinates with Earth Island Institute to process administrative tasks such as contracts, reimbursements, and onboarding


 Desired Skills and Experience​:

● Commitment to understanding + dismantling systems of oppression

● Experience practicing values around racial and environmental justice

● Experience and competency working with communities of color, queer communities, poor and working class communities, immigrant communities, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.

● Understands and can articulate the need for affinity spaces for people with marginalized identities

● Experience with grant writing, developing sponsor relationships, and/or grassroots fundraising

● Strong business management skills, including the ability to create and maintain budgets and financial documents.

● Relationship Builder/ Network Weaver

● Ability to work effectively on diverse teams and communicate across differences

● Ability to give and receive feedback with directness and care

● Strong organizational skills--including time and project management

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Skills and experience in human-centered, emotionally intelligent HR practices

● Creative problem-solving skills

● Ability to sit with and move through uncertainty or unexpected challenges

● Access to and use of reliable personal computer, phone, and Internet connection.

Benefits

This is a work from home position. Hours and Compensation: Full Time with benefits, 35 hours a week. $50,000-55,000 depending on location and experience.
