SEO Career is the nation’s premier professional development program providing Black, Hispanic, and Native American undergrads with pre-internship development, training, and internship support across multiple lines of business. SEO Career currently partners with 60 organizations offering summer internships and has a 35+ year track record of matching talent with opportunity. SEO Career accomplishes this through two stages of its program: SEO Edge and SEO Career Success. Participants receive the coaching and technical training needed to compete for paid internship opportunities with SEO partner organizations with the goal of landing a full-time job offer at the end of the internship. The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for supporting the SEO’s mission and goals by supporting the development, execution, and administration of program activities related to either Edge or Success. These include but are not limited to curriculum, communication, tracking, events, and more. In addition, the program manager will help find, on-board, and guide a group of industry specialists in successfully implementing the Edge or Success phases effectively. If you are someone who has solid experience managing programs, creating processes, is skilled at interacting with various constituents, enjoys working as part of a team, can take a leadership role, and clearly wants to be part of SEO’s mission, you may be our ideal candidate.


•   Manage projects related to developing the program – curriculum, training, and more

•   Guide a group of part-time industry specialists in assessing students and delivering feedback

•   Use your expertise to implement professional development resources:

•   Organize industry-specific resources including staff, content, and events

•   Assist in the execution of training and networking events

•   Helping design and implement training resources

•   Leverage data management capabilities to organize and track information to assist in decision-making

•   Develop and maintain strong relationships with all constituents

•   Other duties as required by the Assistant Director(s) including some administrative duties


•   This is a full-time role with full benefits

•   In addition to regular weekday hours, you may be required to work occasional evenings or weekends       

•   You may also be required to travel to attend events

•   SEO provides flexibility commensurate with experience and performance


•   Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

•   Minimum 3 years of professional work experience

•   Prior experience managing or leading a team of people preferably in the nonprofit or corporate settings


•   Appreciates and understands SEO’s mission and is committed to achieving results

•   Results-focused with a proven track record of execution through program management

•   Ability and desire to motivate, coach and mentor employees

•   Critical thinking skills a must. Strong organization skills and ability to handle changing priorities

•   Expertise in drawing meaningful insights from data to create strategy, tell a narrative and operationalize solutions

•   Proficiency in the use of computer programs such as Blackboard/Genius SIS and Microsoft Office

•   Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, clients, alumni, and senior staff

•   Proven ability to build relationships and influence via collaboration

•   Ability and willingness to work some nights and some weekends as dictated by programming needs
