Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) Analyst

FishChoice is currently hiring a Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) Analyst to join the FisheryProgress FIP review team. We are looking for candidates with a passion for environmental sustainability and/or social responsibility, a keen attention to detail, and exposure to fisheries, natural resource economics and/or the seafood industry.
FisheryProgress, a program of FishChoice, is a one-stop shop for reliable information about the progress of FIPs all around the world, so that companies can use their buying power to reward progress and encourage improvement. The vast majority of FIPs actively use FisheryProgress as a vehicle for public reporting on their status and progress toward environmental and social sustainability.
The FIP Analyst ensures the highest quality of FIP reviews to support FIP implementers who use the FisheryProgress website. They are a member of the FIP review team led by the FisheryProgress Program Manager and supported by the Social Responsibility Manager. The main goal of the FIP review team is to ensure that the information on FisheryProgress is consistent, accurate, and backed up by documentation and evidence, as outlined in the Conservation Alliance’s Guidelines for Supporting Fishery Improvement Projects. Roughly half of the analyst’s time is spent working one-on-one with project implementers from all around the world in order to improve the quality and consistency of progress reporting. The other half of the analyst’s time is dedicated to supporting the projects, systems, and processes that are necessary to ensure the success of FisheryProgress and its stakeholders, including FIP implementers, seafood buyers, non-governmental organizations, and others. The person in this position will play a significant role in shaping the application of global best practices in FIP environmental and social reporting.

This is a full-time, remote position based in the U.S. International candidates will be considered as contractors. FishChoice is headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado and we have teammates in California, Oregon, and Illinois.
