Trail Blazers overnight camp is an outdoor adventure program in a rustic camp environment. Spend your summer in the beautiful forest of Northwest New Jersey, gaining immeasurable experience with program development, group management, environmental engagement, and youth service.

Group Leader

Live in a small camp group and be responsible for the care of 8-10 campers each session. You work with 1 to 2 other Group Leaders to develop and implement programming for your group, utilizing camp resources, the expertise of your fellow staff members, and your own creativity and experience. As the most direct participant in your campers' daily lives, you are responsible for ensuring that their experiences are safe, meaningful, and memorable.

Start date: June 19

Salary: $2100 

Outdoor Trip ("Vagabond") Specialist

The highlight of the Trail Blazers experience is the 1-4 night trip called Vagabond. You will be responsible for ensuring that groups have the skills needed to embark on these adventures, while managing the Vagabond scheduling for all groups as well as coordinating food and inventory logistics. This job requires advanced outdoor trip experience as well as a demonstrated organizational prowess.

Salary: $2100 

Waterfront Instructor

You will be responsible for creating and leading daily swimming lessons with small camp groups; during times or sessions when you are not assigned to the waterfront, you will support your small camp group, sharing in the responsibilities of other Group Leaders to create and lead activities. Current or past certification preferred. Ability to pass ARC lifeguard training (provided by Trail Blazers) is required. 

Start date: June 12

Salary: $2100 plus lifeguard certification


You will oversee 3-4 smallcamps, support positive group development, help campers in need of extra support and attention, provide Group Leaders with feedback and evaluation, and ensure that your groups' programming is absolutely awesome. Prior supervisory experience required.

Salary: $2500 


Looking to contribute behind the scenes? Be part of a vital aspect of camp operations! Manage a set and on-call driving schedule, as well as operational support tasks when no drives are scheduled. 21+ with a clean driving record is a must. Experience driving 12+ passenger vans a must. CDL preferred but not required.

Start date: June 12 

Salary: $3000 


Utilize the resources of our beautiful 1000 acre property on your time off (or explore town with your friends). Meals provided all summer long, days off included. Travel reimbursement available.
