THE POSITION
The Director of Finance has a senior supervisory role within CFE’s leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position manages the day-to-day functions of budget development, payroll, accounts payable, grant billing, transaction processing, month-end and year-end closings, financial reporting (including presentations to the Finance & Audit Committee and Board), cash flow planning and analysis, and coordination of the annual audit. This role directly supervises two staff members within accounting and finance operations and will manage any consultants engaged in projects for the department.
The Director will maintain a robust system of financial controls and budgeting processes to mitigate risk, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and uphold compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
This position is based in our Washington, DC, headquarters and requires a minimum of two days per week in the office.

COMPENSATION
The annual salary range is $130,000 - $160,000 and is commensurate with experience. CFE offers a generous benefits package that includes employee-sponsored health and dental, life insurance, a health savings account with annual employer contributions, a retirement plan with employer matching, and a generous paid time off program.
