ENROLL Virginia was established by the Virginia Poverty Law Center (VPLC) in 2013 as a community-based effort to educate Virginians about their health coverage options and provide free, unbiased application and enrollment assistance throughout the Commonwealth. Health Insurance is complicated, and thousands of Virginians and small businesses rely on Enroll Virginia to understand their health coverage options and apply for financial assistance. Since the launch of the program, ENROLL Virginia has helped more than 150,000 Virginians.


Communications and Marketing Specialist Responsibilities

The Communications and Marketing Specialist will elevate Enroll Virginia’s overall profile throughout Virginia while supporting the mission to provide free, unbiased assistance to as many Virginians as possible. We seek a highly motivated self-starter to contribute to our statewide team. This position will coordinate with the Enroll Virginia Outreach Coordinator, Enroll Virginia management team, and VPLC’s communications team as necessary.

·       Research and write content for press releases, online publications, social media, and development materials.

·       Coordinate Enroll Virginia’s traditional and social media. Media work will include TV, radio, newspapers, community newsletters (especially for immigrant communities), and multiple social media platforms.

·       Coordinate social media and traditional advertising campaigns throughout the state

·       Design promotional materials to ensure consistent branding and style across Enroll Virginia presentations and consumer-facing materials.

·       Distill complicated subject matter into accessible graphics for print and digital channels

·       Work with translators to create materials in a variety of languages

·       Manage and update Enroll Virginia’s website.

·       Collaborate with external partners to ensure consistency in messaging during open enrollment and throughout the year.

·       Work to collect consumer stories that highlight Enroll Virginia’s work.

·       Expected to work remotely while maintaining ongoing contact with management team.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

·       Strong time managements skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at a time.

·       Ability to work in a diverse workplace setting

·       Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly.

·       Highly organized with attention to detail.

·       Proven ability to use creative problem-solving skills.

·       Demonstrated ability to understand diverse, hard to reach populations across Virginia and how to utilize a variety communication channels to reach them.

·       Ability to manage multiple social media channels and website.

·       Experience with nonprofit messaging and graphic design

·       Willingness to travel throughout the state.

·       Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator primarily), Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Canva.

·       Bachelor’s degree required.

·       Knowledge of the health insurance marketplace at Healthcare.gov and public health programs (Medicaid and/or Children’s Health Insurance Program) is preferred.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience (range $48-$55k), benefits included. The position is a 12-month grant funded position with the potential for renewal. It is based in Richmond, Virginia.
