Position Overview

The Global Business School Network (GBSN) is seeking a Network Coordinator to support the day to day functions of membership recruitment and administration for the growing membership network. The Network Coordinator will work closely with senior staff and outside consultants to help grow and organize membership. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications and Membership, the Network Coordinator will play a key role in setting and executing GBSN’s overall membership recruitment and engagement strategy. The Network Coordinator is based in Washington D.C. and is an integral member of the GBSN’s small core team. This position will work closely with GBSN member institutions across globe to help support and plan events and ultimately grow membership.

Position Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Assist in setting and executing overall membership recruitment and engagement strategy
  • Prepare welcome materials and manage onboarding
  • Support marketing and communication efforts through list development and coordination with third-party systems
  • Assist in creating marketing strategy and outreach
  • Manage distribution and collection of responses to information requests and sign-on letters

Member Services

  • Serve as liaison for member requests
  • Provides administrative and professional level support for GBSN member institutions
  • Create member value reports bi-annually or as requested
  • Provide membership updates through newsletters or other forms of communication in conjunction with the communications department
  • Contribute to generation of topics, agendas, speakers and sponsors for GBSN conference, webinars, summits, member networking gatherings and other events
  • Research, solicit and develop opportunities for members to partner with one another and/or expand their contribution to GBSN’s mission, especially in key areas for GBSN such as entrepreneurship, doctoral education, experiential learning and health management
  • Research, coordinate and promote regional trends and opportunities to highlight member expertise in the business education and development sectors through speaking and publishing

Data Management and Reporting

  • Support the set-up and transition to GBSN’s new association management system
  • Ensure the accuracy of all member records including, but not limited to, running duplicate checks and updating profiles or data addresses as needed
  • Collect, organize and analyze membership data, produce internal reports that identify membership engagement trends
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality of database system

Candidate Profile

GBSN is looking for a talented and motivated professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast paced environment. A strong work ethic, creativity, strong attention to detail, ability to take initiative, great writing and communication skills, will be keys to success in this position on our small DC-based team.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in international relations, non-profit management, communications or other related degrees like marketing, international education, etc., and have 1+ years of professional experience. The selected candidate will be extremely organized and detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent critical thinking and analysis, planning, and problem-solving skills are required. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful self-starter. Candidates must have professional interpersonal skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and, ideally, Mac OS X. Experience with Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite and association management systems is preferred. Must be fluent in English and additional languages are a plus. Some domestic and international travel may be required.

This is an entry level position for someone looking to gain professional experience in a mission-oriented non-profit office setting! Ideal candidate will have 1 years+ of administrative support, international experience (Peace Corps, foreign language/service, travel, etc.) and an interest in development, corporate social responsibility, and/or higher education.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • Prior experience with membership databases or CRMs preferred
  • Highly proactive and dependable team player who takes the initiative on projects, follows through on detail, and works well under pressure and on deadline
  • Interpersonal skills that allow for successful work with all levels of the organization including GBSN members, Board of Directors, donors, partners.
  • Aptitude for communicating effectively verbally and in writing to a diverse range of audiences and in various settings
  • Competence with standard software and internet-based programs. Understanding of the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • A strong personal commitment to development work and/or education such as that of GBSN’s mission.
