    About The Position:

    The Communications Manager will oversee all aspects of our editorial and digital communications, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, and reports. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong copywriting and editing skills, who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate effectively with various teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in media relations, experience in event management, and knowledge of digital fundraising. You will also be highly passionate about human rights, political freedom, civil liberties, and the mission of HRF.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and execute all editorial and digital content including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, and reports.
    • Oversee and maintain the editorial calendar to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.
    • Collaborate with executive management, legal, website, marketing, and creative teams to ensure cohesive and engaging communications across digital platforms.
    • Track and analyze HRF media coverage and maintain relevant press contacts.
    • Manage e-marketing, speaker, attendee, and donor communications for the Oslo Freedom Forum conference series.
    • Support press strategies to secure local and international media coverage and organize press-related events.
    • Utilize tools like EventsAir and Airtable for events platform management and ensure smooth execution of conference activities.
    • Use project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) to track progress and deadlines for various projects.
    • Oversee graphic design needs using Adobe Creative Suite and ensure alignment with branding guidelines.
    • Implement digital fundraising strategies and support marketing and branding initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in copywriting and editing, with a strong portfolio of written work.
    • Demonstrated experience in events management and customer service.
    • Proficiency in using EventsAir, Airtable, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Familiarity with AP Style and best practices in press relations, including pitching experience.
    • Strong skills in digital fundraising, marketing, and branding.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work on deadline and under pressure.
    • Leadership experience and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
